Welcome to my DP
Into the Wild
Into the Wild was a project we did based on a book we read in class. In this project we went out camping up in Anza Borrego desert. We were asked to build our equipment first at school before we went off. We were all assigned to different building equipment. There was cooler, headlamp and tent. I was assigned to building a homemade tent. This was required for this project.
Soda Can Stove procedure
The first thing I did to make my stove was cut the top of the can about 35mm. We had to make a very even cut around the outside. I then had to cut the top of the can and jab jets around the top side of the can with a tack needle about a quater of an inch apart. I then had to take to middle strip of the can and take that piece and put it inside the can. But before taking that piece I had to crimp the piece with plyers and cut 3 inches out from that strip then cut slits that would slide into eachother. I then put the strip inside and push the can into eachother which made the can slide and fit right over the top. The tools that we had used were managed for different things. The plyers for crimping, razor blade for cutting and a tack to jab in jets for the flames to come through. The design of this stove was just one full can cut into pieces and smashed togeather. Do I think this stove will work? Yes, I do think this stove will work. The way I designed it was well and i followed the directions.
The way the soda can works is by putting in some alcholic liquid into the middle of the can. When we light the liquid with a lighter, it instantly catches on fire. After a while the liquid starts bubbling and that tells that it's reaching its boiling point. When this liquid reaches it's boiling point the flames burst out through the fuel jets. This tells when your stove is ready to be used. These bubbles hold in vapor preassure when this is released the vapor rises and makes more heat. This is how a soda can preforms.
Heat is a source and can transfer from one place to another. For example a pot of water and how does it boil? Well we use Conduction which is the transfer of heat and rapidly moving atoms through a medium to another without movement of the media. Another would be Convection. Convection is the transfer of heat by the physcial movment of the heated medium itself. Convection occurs in liquids and gases but not in solids. When these two heat transfers combine to boil a pot of water the way it works is by heated atoms that transfer rapidly to the pot of water and then convection kicks in. Convection in the water would be it's boiling point. The boiling point is its physical movement.

Ad Body for Tent
How is the best tent made? Well find out and buy our light weight tent today. The structure of our homemade tent is built with PVC pipes and the covering with blue light tarp to keep out too much heat and coldness from getting inside. The bottom is covered with tarp as well and then padding to keep comfort. This tent is air resistance which means your tent won’t blow away. No air will get caught up inside. The forces on the tent help it keep down then with all the gravity pushing down on this tent it holds it stable. Even though it’s light weight and easy to carry and to carry around it will hold down even without stakes! Tension on this tent is held with rope for it to be tied together on the top. Compression on the tent would be the tarp. It holds steady and keeps from too much wind getting in. This tent is designed like a tipi and holds up to one or two people inside. Buy our Tent today.

Reflection
Doing this project was a pain, but until we go out there and experienced nature was a good time. I had a lot of time to take time off and stress. But overall, this project was fun and worth my time.
